| Can Your Service
Provider Handle Cellular Data? |
 |
|
| You will need to find a few things out from
your Internet Service Provider (ISP) before you jump into
Wireless Cellular Data. You will have to make a brief call
to your Provider in order to determine if they support low
speed calls and to ensure they support both analog and
digital cellular data
connections. Ositech's Wireless Cellular Data
solutions work in both analog and digital modes. Check the
specifications and requirements for your particular product
and ensure your service provider can support the proper data
format for your phone and plan.
Your provider will also have to support low speed (14.4
or less) connections as cellular data tends to make a lower
speed connection that its wirelined counterparts. For a full
explaination of why cellular data may not obtain 56K
connections, see the Learn
section of this site.

| Does Your
Computer Have a PC Card Slot? |
 |
|
Ositech’s Wireless Cellular Solution is
housed in a regular PC Card (also called PCMCIA cards). You
will need to ensure you have a PCMCIA slot on your laptop
which is not currently in use in order to use the Ositech
Wireless Cellular Data solution.

Is Your Phone Dual Mode? Is It Digital Data Capable?
|
 |
|
Dual Mode cellular phones are phones which can
connect in either a digital or an analog cellular coverage
area (see Cellular FAQ page for more information on coverage
areas). Ositech's CellFlex products operate using your
cellular phone's Dual Mode capabilities. The active cable
included with your Ositech CellFlex product automatically
detects the network type in which you are trying to make
your connection and ensures your phone is set to the right
mode to establish the best signal possible within the given
calling conditions.
Not all Dual Mode phones are also Digital Data Capable. In
order to use Ositech's Wireless Internet Access kit, you
need to ensure your phone can handle Digital Data as well as
voice. What this means is that your phone can not only
transmit voice, but can also transmit data (computer
signals). To use Ositech's CellFlex Dual Mode capabilities
your cellular phone will have to be both Dual Mode and
Digital Data Capable.

|
| Does your
Wireless Network Support Dual Mode Digital Data? |
 |
|
| If you are using an Ositech CellFlex product,
you not only need to be using a service provider who can
handle Cellular Data on their network, but one who will
support Dual Mode Digital Data (ie: Cellular Data
transmitted as either an analog or a digital signal).
Contact your service provider to ensure this support is
offered.
